Waterford and Suir Valley Railway Print E-mail
The Waterford and Suir Valley Railway project has been in existence since 1997 when work began on the initial development stage.

Ip_waterford_suir_v_rn July 2002, the promoters of this project applied to Waterford Leader Partnership for grant aid towards the re-development of the Kilmeaden Station and the laying of another 1.4 miles of track. This was duly granted and work commenced on the project.

W&SVR has proven to be an extremely successful community based heritage project attracting both locals and tourists to the area. The track runs mostly along the banks of the river Suir between Kilmeaden and Waterford City taking in some of the most breathtaking scenery in the South East.
