This is an LDSIP funded project
Dungarvan Resource Centre For The Unemployed
Dungarvan Resource Centre for the Unemployed was opened in 1992 by the Local Trades Council, with the assistance of ICTU, FAS, and Waterford LEADER Partnership Ltd.
The Centre was designed as a drop in, and information centre for people who were unemployed. Its role over the years has focused primarily on the above service, although it now provides assistance to new arrivals to this Country from
Waterford LEADER Partnership Ltd. continues to provide a small allocation each year from its LDSIP budget to assist the Resource Centre with their referral service to the LES, operated by W.L.P. Ltd., and also to FAS. On average the Resource Centre refers 10-15 people per month to the employment services. This system is very beneficial, as the Resource Centre maintains its independent advice status, while at the same time sign posting other services that can make a direct positive intervention in the individual job seekers life.
