Ballymacarbry Community Centre

The Ballmacarbry Community Centre was approved funding under the LEADER + programme towards enterprise and training facilities, i.e. meeting rooms and fully equipped computer training rooms for both local residents and businesses to use as well as NRDP funds towards a hostel and hiking facility. The centre is ideally located between the towns of Clonmel and Dungarvan and serves an ever increasing commuter population. From a tourism perspective, the village is located in the scenic Nire Valley and connects up with the Rathgormack hostel and hiking centre to the north east through the popular Comeragh mountain pass, frequented by ardent hill walkers and mountaineering groups. The new Ballymacarbry Hiking and Hostel facilities will provide a welcome and comfortable refuge for groups who can also avail of the nightly entertainment in the village within walking distance.
