LDSIP - Tramore Asylum Seekers |

Tramore 2007 Asylum Seekers Project is funded by the LDSIP Programme.
There are approximately 150 Asylum Seekers in Tramore. The Asylum Seekers find it difficult to fill in their day; some do voluntary work, others join local organisations and clubs to help them know Irish Culture better and of course improve their spoken English. Many spend time at classes learning English. One need the Asylum Seekers mentioned during meetings with them was be able to join the local swimming club. WLP Ltd through the LDSIP Programme agreed to fund €1,000 in order to subsidise their 6 monthly subscription to join the swimming club. So far over 40 Asylum Seekers have availed of this fund. It is wonderful to see how even swimming can play a role in improving the quality of life of the Asylum Seekers.
