Migrant Worker Project
Migrant Workers and Asylum Seekers need to learn English in order to take up employment in Ireland. Some attend VEC courses in Tramore i.e. once a week while other try to attend English Language Courses at least 3 days per week. To do this WLP Ltd through the LDSIP Programme gave a small fund of €500 to subsidise the cost of bus travel from Tramore to the Mount Sion Centre, Waterford City for the more disadvantaged. There are two women availing of this subsidy at present and they are progressing very quickly in spoken English.
