Waterford Leader Partnership

The Ardmore Playground Committee was established in July 2003 to raise funds to build a playground in Ardmore due to the demand for playground facilities from the local community.  The committee, comprised of local parents, identified a need for this facility in their area and saw it as a means of enhancing the social activities of their children and the surrounding community.  The committee consulted with Waterford County Council and was allocated a suitable site adjacent to the beach car park.  As Ardmore has strong tourist presence in the summer season, the playground is an added attraction in a convenient and accessible location as well as enhancing the village.  The play area consists of two sections, one for the younger children and one for the older.  Waterford Leader Partnership assisted with the cost of the playground equipment for this project.
