LES assisting Carrick–on-Suirs Job Seekers………….

The Carrick-on-Suir Local Employment Service (LES) recently organised a “Business Excellence and Career Planning” training programme for its clients, funded by the Local Development Social Inclusion Programme (LDSIP – co-ordinated by Waterford Leader Partnership Ltd.). LDSIP is dedicated to countering disadvantage and promoting equality, social and economic inclusion in the County.

During the programme, participants were provided with a variety of communication / operation / organisation skills during an engaging programme, delivered by a highly qualified and motivational trainer, which featured an appropriate blend of theory and practice.

The LES (co-ordinated by Waterford Leader Partnership Ltd., under contract to FAS), is based at the Nano Nagle Community Resource Centre, in Carrick-on-Suir and assists job seekers with taking those practical steps needed to secure employment, training and educational opportunities. It is a free service to all individuals in receipt of a Social Welfare payment.

The Business Excellence and Career Planning course proved to be so successful that the LES hopes to organise a further programme early in 2009. Other training opportunities proposed for 2009, include “Computer training for Beginners”, “Stonewall building”, “Success at Interviews and CV Design”, “Landscape Gardening”; “Failte Ireland, Bar Skills”,  Safepass / Manual Handling. To register with the LES or for more information on training supports available, please contact the LES on 051 649516.
