Participants

Building/Arc Welding/Manual Handling/Abrasive Wheel” course receiving their

LES delivers exciting new
training programme to Carrick–on-Suir’s Job Seekers………….
The Carrick-on-Suir Local Employment
Service (LES) recently organised in conjunction with FRS training the first
ever “Stonewall Building/Arc Welding/Manual
Handling/Abrasive Wheel” training programme to be held in the South Tipperary area for its clients. This programme was generously
funded by the Department of Social and Family Affairs and the Local Development
Social Inclusion Programme (LDSIP – co-ordinated by Waterford Leader
Partnership Ltd.).
During the programme, participants
were provided with a variety of skills during an engaging programme, delivered
by highly qualified tutors and co-ordinated by FRS Training.
The LES (co-ordinated by Waterford Leader
Partnership Ltd., under contract to FAS), is based at the Nano Nagle Community
Resource Centre, in Carrick-on-Suir and assists job seekers with taking those
practical steps needed to secure employment, training and educational
opportunities. It is a free service to all individuals in receipt of a Social
Welfare payment.
The “Stonewall Building/Arc Welding/Manual Handling/Abrasive Wheel” programmeproved to be so successful that the
LES hopes to organise a further programme early in 2009. Other training
opportunities proposed for 2009, include “Computer training for Beginners”, “Customer
Service, Business Operations”, “Success at Interviews and CV Design”, “Landscape
Gardening”; “Failte Ireland, Bar Skills”, Safepass / Manual Handling. To register with
