LES delivers exciting new training programme to Carrick–on-Suir’s Job Seekers………….

The Carrick-on-Suir Local Employment Service (LES) recently organised in conjunction with FRS training the first ever “Stonewall Building/Arc Welding/Manual Handling/Abrasive Wheel” training programme to be held in the South Tipperary area for its clients. This programme was generously funded by the Department of Social and Family Affairs and the Local Development Social Inclusion Programme (LDSIP – co-ordinated by Waterford Leader Partnership Ltd.).

During the programme, participants were provided with a variety of skills during an engaging programme, delivered by highly qualified tutors and co-ordinated by FRS Training.

The LES (co-ordinated by Waterford Leader Partnership Ltd., under contract to FAS), is based at the Nano Nagle Community Resource Centre, in Carrick-on-Suir and assists job seekers with taking those practical steps needed to secure employment, training and educational opportunities. It is a free service to all individuals in receipt of a Social Welfare payment.

The “Stonewall Building/Arc Welding/Manual Handling/Abrasive Wheel” programme proved to be so successful that the LES hopes to organise a further programme early in 2009. Other training opportunities proposed for 2009, include “Computer training for Beginners”, “Customer Service, Business Operations”, “Success at Interviews and CV Design”, “Landscape Gardening”; “Failte Ireland, Bar Skills”,  Safepass / Manual Handling. To register with the LES or for more information on training supports available, please contact the LES on 051 649516.
