West Waterford LES: Intermediate IT Training 2009 Print E-mail

The Programme, which was generously funded by the Local Development Social Inclusion Programme (LDSIP) commenced on the 11th March and concluded on the 3rd April, 2009 and 10 Local Employment Service (LES) Clients participated.

PRESS RELEASE – County Waterford LES - Intermediate Computer Training Programme, Cappoquin

The County Waterford Local Employment Service recently organised an Intermediate Computer Training Programme for West Waterford clients in Cappoquin.

Participants attended an 8-session (16-hour) Intermediate IT programme, funded by the Local Development Social Inclusion Programme (LDSIP – Waterford Leader Partnership Ltd.) , from March 11th – April 3rd, 2009.

Many of the Clients had progressed from the Basic Computer Training programme that had been organised in late 2008. All participants made fantastic progress with the development of their IT Skills over the course of the Training Programme, under the guidance of Tutor, Mary Curtis.

The LES hopes to organise further Training Opportunities for 2009, including Core Employment Skills & Safety Training (Dungarvan); Reception Skills Training (Dungarvan); Traditional Stonewall Building (Lismore).

The LES assists job seekers with taking those practical steps needed to secure employment, training and educational opportunities. Assistance is provided with CV’s; Job Applications; Interview Preparation. Information Room available with Waterford County & City; Cork County & City and South Tipperary newspapers, including FAS touch-screen job vacancy listings (Info Room open to all Job-Seekers). It is a free service to all individuals in receipt of a Social Welfare payment.

The LES (Co-ordinated by WLP Ltd. under contract to FAS) is based at 21, Church Street, Dungarvan (or by appointment on a Thursday morning in WLP Ltd. offices in Mayfield, Lismore).
