LES join forces with South Tipperary VEC in assisting Carrick–on-Suir’s Job Seekers………….

The Carrick-on-Suir Local Employment Service (LES) recently organised an “English Language” training programme for its clients. The programme was jointly funded by the South Tipperary VEC and the LES Mediator Training Fund. The LES (Co-ordinated by Waterford Leader Partnership Ltd., under contract to FAS), is based at the Nano Nagle Community Resource Centre, in Carrick-on-Suir and assists job seekers with taking those practical steps needed to secure employment, training and educational opportunities. It is a free service to all individuals in receipt of a Social Welfare payment. Training provided by Carrick-on-Suir’s LES so far this year has included courses in Computer Training for Beginners, English Language classes, Failte Ireland – Bar skills; Business Excellence and Career Planning. Proposed courses for the remainder of 2009 are Traditional Stonewall Building, Basic Computers, Intermediate Computer Training, Safe Pass, Manual Handling; Business Excellence and Career Planning.
