Sea Safety Centre, Annestown This project is supported under the Community Support Scheme - Salmon Hardhsip Fund. The Sea Safety Centre in Annestown was constructed in 2006/7 by the Local Community, and the Fishermen as a Sea Safety Centre, and a Community Meeting Facility. It was part funded by the Community, and Waterford LEADER Partnership Ltd under the LEADER+/NRDP Programme. In July 2008, after a public meeting in Annestown, the Board of the Centre decided to complete the fit out of the centre in terms of Radio, I.T., and Safety Equipment and Training for the Local Fishermen under the Department of Communications, Energy and Natural Resources Salmon Hardship Scheme. The total investment was €12,371.00, with Waterford LEADER Partnership Ltd through the scheme investing €8,849.12 on behalf of the Dept. of CENR. The Centre is now equipped with CCTV, I.T. Equipment with Internet Access, Radio Equipment for Sea Safety, Defibrillators, First Aid Equipment, and facilities to cater for Search and Rescue Staff.
