Clashmore Heritage Centre

This project was funded under the Community Supports Scheme - Salmon Hardship Fund.

The Clashmore Heritage Centre has been in existence for twelve years. Originally funded under the LEADER 11 Programme by Waterford LEADER Partnership Ltd, the Clashmore Heritage Group in totally rebuilding the Church of Ireland which lay totally derelict, unroofed and disused for many years have provided an excellent Community Facility in a village that has expanded dramatically in the last ten years.

The Centre now caters for many of the villages groups, from dancing and music, to older people and local activity groups. In the light of this usage, the Centre’s Committee applied to Waterford LEADER Partnership Ltd under the Salmon Hardship Programme to install a proper floor for teaching set dancing, proper I.T. Facilities and Power Point for local Public Meetings. This investment totalling €15,708.33, with €11,781.25 from WLP Ltd through the Salmon Hardship Fund and €3,927.08 from the Clashmore Heritage Centre to meet local demand will be fully completed in November 2009.
