|West Waterford LES - Security Training|
Security Training organised in Dungarvan by the LES and supported by DSFA; LDSIP and FAS.....
Given the availability of some employment opportunities in the Security Sector, the LES recently organised a 2-day Security Training Programme for 14 Clients who wished to up-skill and avail of this valuable Training opportunity.
The programme, which was delivered by Recall Security, focused on the current requirements for Static & Patrol security officers – they must be aware of the legislation relating to the Criminal Law; Discrimination; Health and Safety, to name just a few. Rising insurance costs, increased violent assaults and increased risk from attacks are some of the risks handled daily and these challenges were addressed during the Training Programme.
The modules covered in the 16-hour Basic Guarding Skills Programme included Introduction to the Security Industry; Role and Responsibilities of the Static & Patrol Security Officer; Patrolling; Access Control; Reporting, Notebooks, Statements and Crime Scenes; Equal Opportunities and discrimination; Fire Awareness; Health and Safety; Customer Care; Communications.
The Basic Guarding Skills Course is certified by the Security Institute of Ireland and FETAC (Level 4 Qualification to comply with PSA Requirements) and was generously supported by the Department of Social and Family Affairs; FAS and the Local Development Social Inclusion Programme (WLP Ltd.).
The LES is a support service to meet the needs of people who are unemployed and in receipt of a Social Welfare payment. For assistance with careers information; job searching; interview preparation; education & training programmes, please contact us at 058-45750.
