Waterford Leader Partnership

Waterford Leader Partnership funded the design and build of a new locomotive customised for the Waterford & Suir Valley Railway to enhance the comfort of the journey through the Suir valley as well as expansion and upgrading work to the car park under the Rural Development programme of Waterford LEADER Partnership. These elements formed part of a three phase project which also included construction of the train shed and loop to the shed. The total Rural Development funding received by the project amounted to €200,000.
