Bowling Rinks

Waterford LEADER Partnership Ltd supported this project under the Village Renewal and Development Measure of the RDP Programme.

The construction of the Bowling Rinks in Walton Park has provided a facility that meets the commitment of Waterford LEADER Partnership Ltd to improve the quality of life for all citizens in rural areas.  Under the programme, village renewal activities such as the provision of amenity facilities that are outside the remit of mainstream statutory and sporting bodies are supported.

The new Bowling complex includes facilities for both lawn bowls and french boules (also known as pétanque) was officially opened on Friday the 26th August 2011 and has four dedicated bowling lanes which were built adjacent to the tennis courts.  The facilities are open to both members and non members and is an excellent amenity in the area. They represent another example of our pledge to make positive changes to opportunities and quality of life in rural Waterford. The bowling lanes are open to everyone and are ideal for a sunny afternoon.
