The Portlaw Heritage Committee received funding under the Rural Development Programme, Conservation and Upgrading of the Rural Heritage Measure to refurbish the dilapidated footbridge abutement as a viewing platform and to carry out repairs to the roadside wall and the historical canal wall in the village of Portlaw.
