Local Development Social Inclusion Programme

This programme is being replaced by the Local and Community Development Programme.

 

The Local Development Social Inclusion Programme supports long term unemployed, disadvantaged and marginalized communities, and young people.

The strength of the LDSIP Programme is that it encourages partnership with other social inclusion groups, agencies and communities. This ensures a more focused approach to helping the marginalized.

The LDSIP Programme is divided into three measures:

1. Service to the Unemployed

2. Disadvantaged Communities Development

3. Community Based Youth Initiative

Measure A - Service to the Unemployed Print E-mail
WLP Ltd. works closely with the Local Employment Service (LES) in upskilling, training and preparing the Long Term Unemployed (LTU) for employment. Among those specifically targeted are women, lone parents, travellers, migrant workers, people with disability and marginalized men.

Measure B - Disadvantaged Community Development Print E-mail
The aim of this Measure is to help develop, structure and empower disadvantaged communities and groups.  Groups are helped to look at their needs, draw up their own aims and objectives and then to structure themselves in order to implement their own action plan.

Measure C - Community Based Youth Initiative Print E-mail
The aim of this initiative is to help disadvantaged young people improve their academic, social and cultural chances in life. This is done by linking projects with schools, communities and homes.
