WLP Ltd. works closely with the Local Employment Service (LES) in
upskilling, training and preparing the Long Term Unemployed (LTU) for
employment. Among those specifically targeted are women, lone parents,
travellers, migrant workers, people with disability and marginalized
men.
Examples:Disabilityupporting people with disability in Dungarvan to employ a Development Worker. This group links clients to other Agencies for Training and Employment while also promoting better planning for wheelchair access etc. and advocates the rights of the disabled. Women/Lone Parentsraining courses are run for women/lone parents wishing to get back into the labour force. Various relevant courses run are Carers Training, Safe Pass, Traditional Skills Courses, Skills Courses for Women, and Training of People with Disability. Traveller Men Initiative
The leasing of an industrial unit in Dungarvan as a training and production centre for Traveller Men is a major part of this initiative.

WLP Ltd. links with the Dungarvan CDP in supporting and helping the Traveller Men Initiative. The objective is to help Traveller Men learn new skills, which will enable them to seek employment or indeed be self-employed.
