Tá tacaíocht tugtha ag Comhpháirtíocht LEADER Phort Láirge Teo don tionscadal seo mar chuid dá straitéis chun cabhrú le Pobail Áitiúla áiseanna áineasa a fhorbairt i sprioc-cheantair tuaithe, faoi bhrat an Bhirt Um Bunseirbhísí de chuid an Chláir Náisiúnta Um Fhorbairt Tuaithe. Tá trí ghné ag roinnt le straitéis áitiúil na cuideachta, an ghné Shóisialta, an ghné Chultúrtha agus an ghné Phobail de. Tá Comhpháirtíocht LEADER Phort Láirge Teo ag páirtmhaoiniú an pháirc phobail uile aimsire seo a thógáil agus a fhorbairt, ag cur áis/saoráid áineasa ar fáil sa cheantar, a bhfuil géarghá léi.

Restoration and Renovation of Villierstown Church

The project involving the restoration and renovation of Villierstown Church has received funding under the Conservation and Upgrading of the Rural Heritage Measure of the Rural Development Programme as administered by Waterford Leader Partnership Ltd. The project involves both internal and external renovation and restoration works which will see the building restored, making it more accessible and amenable for general public use and which will also maintain the vernacular features of the church.

Klub Muzik

Klub Muzik recently received capital funding under the Training & Information Measure of the Rural Development Programme to extend the centre, providing a larger performance and teaching hall, sound proof drum and band practice rooms, recording studio and teaching room. This new investment will benefit all the clubs pupils and allow schools, choirs, musical societies and local musicians to record cd’s. The larger hall will enable Klub Muzik to put on small concerts and facilitate friends and families to watch the progression of their children and provide a space for teens to hold youth nights, playing music and watching films.

Self Employment as a Pathway to the Labour Market

The training took place over six week’s and was provided by Fitzwilliam Training & Consulting and funded by Waterford Leader Partnership/LCDP, Pobal and the Department of Social Protection. The course gave them an awareness of the requirements of self-employment and introduced them to some business basics. All participants were given the opportunity to fully explore a project idea and engaged with the tutors and others in the group to discuss and decide the best course of action going forward.

Dungarvan Precision Engineering

Dungarvan Precision Engineering received funding under the Support for Business Creation and Development Measure of the Rural Development Programme as administered by Waterford Leader Partnership Ltd. The company operates a precision engineering business that offers a broad range of custom fabrication capability while specialising in high tolerance/heavy duty repairs and new part fabrication. The funding has been used to purchase the following: Press Brake, Guillotine, Plasma Cutter, ironworker and a Bearing Press which will enable the promoters to meet the growing demand for precision engineered products from both existing customers and new ones.

Conservation of Lismore Parish Hall

Lismore Parish Hall received funding under the Conservation and Upgrading of Rural Heritage Measure of the Rural Development Programme as administered by Waterford Leader Partnership Ltd. This is a one room hall with a small annex. Renovation and restoration work was carried out on the following: dry rot, re-pointing of external walls, windows and a new wheelchair access ramp from the street are some of the areas to be funded under the programme, thus improving accessibility for general public use. The Hall is a vital hub for community activity in Lismore.

Knockaderry Reservoir

Waterford City & County Trout Anglers Association received capital funding under the Encouragement of Tourism Activities Measure of the Rural Development programme to develop the Knockaderry reservoir, a lakeshore development incorporating a safe harbour for boats, car park, walkways and a secure pontoon dock and parking facilities. These enhancements will greatly enhance membership for existing anglers as well as attracting new members and visitors to the area.

Higher Certificate in Arts in Community Education and Development

Joint Education Initiative between the Local Community & Development Programme and Waterford Institute of Technology.

This programme is jointly funded By Waterford Leader Partnership, Waterford Area Partnership and Department of Social Protection. The group commenced their programme of study in 2011 and in 2014 all participants will successfully have achieved their higher certificate in Arts in Community Education and Development.

Manufacturing Business Expansion

Ryan Brothers Construction received funding under the Support for Business Creation & Development Measure of the Rural Development Programme as administered by Waterford Leader Partnership. The project involves the further expansion of the steel fabrication business to cater for increased demand along with an upgrade of the IT and Office Management Systems.
