Clashmore Community Bio diversity Action Plan

Clashmore Community Bio diversity Action Plan

Clashmore Tidy Towns were awarded LEADER funding under the Rural Objective Measure and specifically for improving bio diversity.

The main objective of the project was to maximise the bio diversity factor of the pre existing habitats within the environs of Clashmore village including the River Greagagh and related pond habitats, increasing the bio diversity of green areas by adding wild flower meadows while reducing the level of grass cutting  which was traditionally associated with the village. Increase the bio diversity within  hedgerows and other areas  through initiatives such as ‘managed for wildlife’ areas to promote habitats for bees, hedgehogs, birds etc.
