As we head into lambing season, we kindly remind all trail users that dogs are not permitted on mountain trails.
Even well-behaved dogs on leads can cause significant distress to livestock, particularly pregnant ewes and young lambs. Dogs may also disturb ground-nesting birds and other wildlife.
Upland trails also cross private land, and landowners have generously allowed access on the understanding that dogs are not brought onto the uplands.
By respecting this guidance, you are helping to protect local farmers, wildlife, and the continued availability of these beautiful walking routes for everyone to enjoy.
