Lismore Glamping Pods

Lismore Glamping Pods

FROM HISTORIC GROUNDS TO A DISTINCTIVE STAY

In the heart of the heritage town of Lismore, the grounds and garden of the historic Bank of Ireland building have been transformed into an inviting glamping destination. The project brings together high-quality accommodation, outdoor living and a central location, offering visitors a memorable base from which to explore Lismore and West Waterford.

Support from the 2023-2027 LEADER Programme enabled the essential site works needed to bring the vision to life. This included site clearance, foundations, sewer and water connections, electrical works, landscaping, grass seeding, topsoil and bollards.

Five high-quality glamping pods were then delivered and installed, with options suited to couples and small families. The purchase of the pods was supported by the Community Recognition Fund, complementing the LEADER-supported groundwork and infrastructure.

A BOOST FOR LOCAL TOURISM

The completed pods provide a distinctive and comfortable accommodation option that responds to growing interest in sustainable, experience-led tourism. By increasing visitor capacity in a town with limited accommodation, the project can encourage longer stays and greater local spending, benefiting nearby shops, cafés, attractions and activity providers.

Developed by Lismore Town Association, the project demonstrates how community-led investment can create an attractive visitor experience while supporting the wider rural economy. Find out more and plan a stay at lismorepods.ie.
