Waterford Leader Partnership Ltd were happy to help Clonanav Fly Fishing School to develop their business further in order to attract more clients. The project involved:-

  • The improvement of the facilities in the tuition centre by the provision of heating, plumbing and electrical work and the use of new technology to support course tuition.
  • Improve the facilities at the lakes and the river by providing access and picnic areas and to improve parking facilities at the fly fishing school;
  • The purchase of new course equipment.
  • An extensive marketing campaign targeting UK/US/Europe and the Irish market through further advertising, new website development and use of new technology utilising social network sites such as face book and YouTube videos of fly fishing demonstrations to whet the appetite of those interested in the activity

Andrew Ryan of Clonanav Fly Fishing was already one of the most highly qualified and experienced fly fishing instructors in Ireland when he approached WLP Ltd for funding under the Business Creation & Development measure of the Rural Development Programme. He wanted our help to turn his excellent fly fishing school near Ballymacarbry into one of the finest fishing schools in Europe. He already offered private tuition, guided fly fishing trips and a unique fly fishing store - along with his own special blend of enthusiam - but wanted to enchance the experience for this students with better training facilities and equipment.

We were delighted to help make his dream come true. Clonanav now welcomes clients of all ages, abilities and experience from all over the world who come to attend courses during the season, share Andrew's wisdom and catch a little of that infectious enthusiam - as well as plenty of fish.
