WLP have overseen repairs on Lady Louisa’s Walk through a Walks Scheme Development Fund grant provided by the Department of Rural and Community Development and the Gaeltacht, supporting essential works to improve the safety and condition of the trail.
Following a storm earlier in the year, a large tree fell into the Blackwater River, causing significant damage to Lady Louisa’s walk on St. Declan’s Way.
The project has seen the damaged fencing repaired and the fallen tree removed from the river. The removal of the fallen tree presented a particularly complex challenge due to its location in the river and the surrounding landscape. Specialist works were required to safely remove the tree and clear the river without causing further damage to the area.
These works have improved the safety and condition of Lady Louisa’s Walk, helping to maintain this important local outdoor recreation amenity for walkers and visitors.
