Waterford Estuary Coastal Path – Dunmore East to Ballymacaw

The Dunmore East to Ballymacaw Cliff Path is a stunning coastal trail offering walkers breathtaking panoramic sea views. This 7km out-and-back route begins in the charming fishing village of Dunmore East and follows rugged cliff edges, showcasing dramatic sea vistas, secluded coves, and lush green landscapes. Keep an eye out for seabirds such as Kittiwake, Fulmar, Chough, Cormorant and Shag while an occasional seal or dolphin could also pop its head out of the water.

The trail can also be walked as far as Portally Cove (2km) or Rathmoylan Cove (5 km). The first section as far as Portally Cove is ideal for those looking for an easy walk. Continuing to Rathmoylan Cove and on to Ballymacaw Cove offers a more challenging walk requiring a good level of fitness.
