Carbally Youth Group

Carbally Community Development were awarded funding in 2018 under Social Inclusion Measure for much needed upgrading to the Carbally centre to maximise the space to facilitate activities to be undertaken by the youth.

The works included the supply and installation of a G shaped kitchen to replace the old kitchen area including plumbing and all electrical works. The supply and installation of an electrically operated roller shutter door and installation of windows at each side of the stairs, upgraded sanitary ware, toilets and hand basins and supply of ground and first floor coverings. Finally, the supply and installation of LED low energy lighting to first and ground floors and an upgraded distribution board to facilitate new lighting.

The new works and extra natural light heated space will lend to a more usable space for the youth of the area to congregate for homework clubs and other activities.  The original building was like a bunker with limited lighting making indoors very dark and damp.
